Learn all the tips and tricks to create truly reversible colorwork in both half double crochet and double crochet with my book, Reversible Color Crochet!
Reversible Color Change in
Half Double Crochet Tutorial (LH):
1. Work indicated stitch to last yarn over of the stitch in first color (blue), yarn over with second color (white).2. Pull through all 3 loops on hook. Flip dropped yarn over to back of work between your hook and new yarn.
3. After working the first stitch in the new color, gently tighten the dropped yarn at the back of your work. This leaves yarn at top of work to be picked up on next row.
This yarn flip traps the yarn under the back of the stitch, avoiding even the short upward strands which appear on the back of typical color change stitches. Once your fingers get used to working the yarn flip, it will become really easy. This little Yarn Flip, combined with the Late Color Change I showed last week, are the 2 steps that make Reversible Intarsia most different from other colorwork techniques I have seen.
