Vogue Knitting Crochet:Cap-Sleeve Top

Have you picked up a copy of this year's special issue of Vogue Knitting Crochet? It's on newsstands now, and I'm pleased to show off my very first published adult garment: "#10 Cap-Sleeve Top"(video). I used crossed post stitches to create an all over cable pattern, with a wider cables at the center, that splits into smaller cables to form the neckline. Worked from the bottom front up, the back is joined-as-you-go for a seamless project.

I was especially excited to have a design in this issue because I still have the original issue from 20 years ago. I fondly remember when I found that original Vogue Knitting Crochet issue tucked in a shelf in the back room of a local yarn store in 1994.

I had only tried to make a few garments at that point and was always disappointed with the results. I was so excited to see a crochet magazine filled with garments that actually had some style. There are lot more great crocheted garment patterns available these days. But I hope these special issues will intrigue more knitters to try crochet, and give crocheters more variety in the types of garments and accessories they might want to make.
