Still Time to Crochet Gifts?

Granny Tree Skirt - my 1st crocheted project
There's always time to crochet gifts! But with less than a month until Christmas, you might not want to start anything too big, unless you want to still be finishing gifts right up until the last minute. I've been known to be crocheting gifts right up until I slip them in a bag and hand them to the recipient.

Being the first of December, I've decided to start posting some ideas for quick gifts that you actually still have time to make! I'll start with my three latest designs, since they fit the bill. They are featured in Interweave Accessories 2014 Issue (on newsstands now!), which is chock full of awesome gift ideas, so be sure to pick it up, and check out my Edgeless Cable and Felted Designs!

Don't let the name fool you, the woven look of these mitts do not use a traditional "Basket weave" pattern. They are created with rows of crossed front post stitches alternated with rows of crossed back post stitches. This was one of my first published patterns using the Edgeless Cables that I first discovered as the edging for my award winning Reversible Rowan Tree Vest. Crossing 3 post stitches in this pattern really shows off the scalloped edge you can achieve when you take the edge off your cables.

Again, the name is a bit misleading on this quick little number. It is more of a "scarflet" or "neck warmer". I was intrigued by a woman at my LYS, who was buying special skeins of yarn to make a whole slew of "Neck Cozies" for everyone on her Christmas list. This one also uses my unusual edgeless cables, but with only one post stitch crossed over for each cable.

And finally, for the Kids on your list? How about a Felted Crown? I already posted about the inspiration for this one. But keep in mind, I whipped up more than a dozen of these as party favors for my daughter's 2nd birthday, so they would make the perfect last minute gift!

So tell me, what are your favorite last minute crocheted gifts? And stay tuned for more of mine...
